Afghans for Afghans looking for booth vounteers at Knit & Crochet Show

Congregation Beth Israel Knit-A-Mitzvah Group of Portland is among groups who've made afghans for Afghans.
The afghans for Afghans project will have a booth at TKGA Knit & Crochet Show here in Portland next week, "thanks to the donation of booth space by Yarnmarket.com," Ann Rubin of the group says, but they'll need some volunteers to help run it.
afghans for Afghans
is a humanitarian and educational people-to-people project that sends hand-knit and crocheted blankets and sweaters, vests, hats, mittens, and socks to the beleaguered people of Afghanistan.
This grassroots effort is inspired by Red Cross volunteers who made afghans, socks, slippers, and other items for soldiers and refugees during World Wars I and II and other times of crisis and need. Read about the Red Cross knitting tradition.
