Beads galore at glass museum

BROADFIELD House Glass Museum in Kingswinford is hosting its annual beads day this weekend.
Taking place on Saturday May 16, the event will feature bead-making demonstrations by leading members of the Glass Beadmakers UK including Pauline Holt of Jazzy Lily Hot Glass, Francesca Cerreta and Beverley Hicklin.
There will also be a range of trade stands selling ready-to-wear jewellery plus a variety of loose beads for those who prefer to make their own.
Councillor Karen Shakespeare, Dudley’s cabinet member for environment and culture, said: “The beads day is a very popular annual event which explores the colourful world of beads.
“The displays and demonstrations will offer visitors a range of activities to see, with plenty to interest both experts and beginners.”
The event runs at the Compton Drive museum from 10am to 4pm.
Admission is free.
