Shipshewana Hosts Inaugural Quilt Festival

Shipshewana, Ind. – A sure sign that summer’s warm breezes are just around the bend is the release of the Schedule of Events for the Shipshewana Quilt Festival June 24th through June 27th. This first-time event is sure to become an annual favorite, both locally and nationally. The festival is a cooperative event between the local sewing and quilt merchants and the LaGrange County Conventions and Visitors Bureau (LCCVB).

The four day event kicks off with a luncheon program, featuring nationally recognized speaker – Marianne Fons, entitled “Why We Quilt” and then continues into a Quilt and Vendor Show. “Our quilt show will be a juried show” according to Beth Thornburg, Executive Director of the LCCVB, “so you can look forward to some of the most original quilts and quilters in the region, if not the country”......
