Glass artist Marcus Thesing bears the scorching heat while working on glass with fire at the Sawdust Art Festival on Sunday. Temperatures in the glass furnace reaches 2,150 degrees.

"It feels like the hottest day in Vegas," said glass artist Marcus Thesing.

The Arizona artist was laboring on a glass bowl in the scorching heat of a furnace whose interior temperatures reached 2,200 degrees.

Finally, sweat streaming off his face, Thesing's assistant Josh Oxman held up the finished bowl to a mesmerized crowd.....
