Boucle yarns

The rug has always been the center focal point of the room. The type, the size, the style, and the position has not changed much and the tradition old searching in the stores for the perfect rug for a room or piece was an honorable tradition with most families.

Well, today, the do-it- yourself crafter has carried on the tradition in theory. They have simply replaced the furniture stores and outlets with the yarn stores and crafter boutiques.

...There is a great family of yarns that have a sassy name, the Boucle yarns. Boucle is derived from the French word Boucler meaning to curl. The Boucle yarns are made with all different types of yarn fibers that create loops. They usually consist of three plies, one lossier than the other, and the loops can vary in size.  But like most novelty yarns these yarns can be difficult to work with, but in the long run the effects are worth the trouble. Some of the Boucle yarns have multiple colors to help with the dramatic results...
