Brookline -  Elizabeth M. Pappius of Brookline received the Best Scrap Quilt award and a blue ribbon winner for her quilt “Free-Range Pineapple” at the 33rd Vermont Quilt Festival contest and show hosted in June at the Champlain Valley Expo in Essex Junction, Vt. She joined more than 200 others in the annual contest that also has a category specifically for young quilters. Four national quilting authorities judged the quilts prior to the opening of the show. Entries were from the United States, Canada and Uruguay.
