Recycling:Eastwood Mall goes enviro-chic bags

It was raining outside Eastwood Mall that night, but the downpour and a couple of brownouts did not stop the one-of-a-kind event that was being celebrated in the main atrium of the mall. Philippine fashion industry icon Rajo Laurel has delivered the goods of one of his advocacies with the launch of his uniquely and exclusively-designed Eastwood Mall’s Enviro-Chic Bag created by Payatas women under the Rags2Riches Business Enterprise.

These limited-collection tote bags were exhibited by Laurel’s eye-candy towering models whose legs must have stretched from here to France paired with each of the Payatas women who created the bag. There were 500 bags made and each was uniquely designed, making one an extraordinary owner.

All parts of the bag—from the canvass, the macramé handles, to the wooden insignia—were all made from recycled materials in order to create a trendy and practical pro-Earth statement. Costing only P600, the proceeds of it will be donated to Rags2Riches and the Philippine National Red Cross......
