Handmade Soap:Wash the day away

Who says soap has to be white, oval-shaped, and boring? Or, squeezed from a bottle, for that matter? If you want to make bath time a whole lot more fun, snag some vegan bars from Providence-based soap maker Kim Gonzaga of Stella Marie Soaps. (The company is named after Gonzaga's two grandmothers.)

The cool factor? Many of her soaps are sudsy tributes to her rock idols:

This spearmint and lemongrass "Someday, I Soap-pose" bar ($6) is an homage to the Mighty, Mighty Bosstones. "You might think a soap inspired by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones would smell like brass, sweat, bulldogs and cigarettes. That's where you're wrong," Gonzaga says......
