On Saturday, November 7th, a new kind of Road Rally based on the Quilt Blocks is coming to Yancey and Mitchell counties!

"Thread Through the Mountains" begins at 8am at Mountain Heritage HS on Highway 19 in Burnsville, NC. The cost is $25 if you register online by October 30, or $35 the day of the event. Your goal is to find 15 quilt blocks by driving the fewest miles. You’ll have all day to find the blocks, scattered over both counties.

Three itineraries, 10 prizes made by local artists, great family fun... rain or shine! Register before October 30 and save $10! Part of the net proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity. The Road Rally is open to all street-legal, motorized vehicles with a working odometer.
