But over the years, knitting has grown in popularity outside of the stereotype, with even Hollywood catching on to this therapeutic hobby.

It's reportedly a favourite of stars such as Uma Thurman, Scarlett Johansson and Julia Roberts. Groups are springing up in pubs and cafes all over Manchester and the rest of the country, but knitting is believed to date back to Egypt in the first millennium, with the first knitting trade guild starting in Paris in the 1500s.......
