Felt So Right owner Dawn Edwards created this felt hat and plans to display it during the upcoming Felt United event.

Felt So Right, 213 E. Hill St.,, Plainwell, will host a Felt United event Saturday, Oct. 3, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in recognition of the first annual International Day of Felt.

The studio open house will feature felt-making demonstrations and refreshments.

Suzanne Higgs of Hooked On Felt from Plainwell is participating in an event at Marr Haven Wool Farm, 772 39th St., Allegan, on Oct. 3, from noon to 4 p.m.

The United Nations has designated 2009 the International Year of Natural Fibers. The event will coincide with celebrations around the world dedicated to wool fiber.
