Holiday needlework on display at central library – Montgomery County
If you aren’t yet amazed at how fast the winter holidays are approaching, all you need is a trip to the Montgomery County Library to see the PINEY POINTERS’ needle work display.
“Our exhibit opens Nov. 2 and will be there throughout the month,” said exhibits chairwoman CAROLYN TAGTE. “The theme is ‘Holidays.’”
Pieces made by members will represent Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Some pieces are framed, some are stuffed, and some are cross stitched traditional Christmas ornaments. Tagte is stitching a three dimensional ginger bread house for the show. Another piece is a puffy witch seated on an undersized hay bale.
For those, like me, whose knowledge of needlepoint is limited, Piney Pointers will have painted and plain canvases on display, with charts showing all the ways needle point can be done. There will also be one work in progress, and the same piece along side, finished, and framed for scrutiny........
