Check out the needlework at Powerhouse Discovery Centre.

ON Saturday the Powerhouse Discovery Centre will throw open its doors for enthusaists wanting to view its collection of gentle arts, including embroidery, quilting and needlework.

The following events will be held throughout the day and are free with general admission unless specified otherwise:

* Care and display of your treasured textiles - 11.30am. Presented by Suzanne Chee, Powerhouse Museum Conservator.

* How to make an Australian quilt - 10am-2pm. Young visitors can use their creative design skills to make and create a paper quilt block, inspired by the fabric arts on display.....
