Artist prepares to present thousands of beads at Winterfair

Mikelle Hickman-Romine sits at her dining room table in her Merion Village home, the radio mumbles quietly in the next room.
Surrounded by thousands of tiny beads and pieces of her own jewelry, she deftly threads an almost imperceptibly thin needle through bead after bead, one at a time.
"I love it," Hickman-Romine said. "I love jewelry, I've always loved jewelry."
Hickman-Romine, 32, lives with her husband Philip and said she has been making beaded jewelry since she was 12 years old.

Hickman-Romine's work, labeled "neo-modern Victoriana" by her husband, employs vibrant colors and intricate floral designs....
