Crossroads quilters sew busy helping others

On Dec. 5 some lucky person will exchange a $1 raffle ticket for a beautiful handmade quilt, sewn and quilted by members of the Crossroads Quilting group.

The quilt depicts the mountain empire of Sonoita, Elgin and Patagonia through traditional quilt blocks, appliques, local ranch brands, wine labels and photo images transferred to fabric. It has been displayed at venues and has raised more than $1,500.

The quilt may be seen and raffle tickets may be purchased during the Patagonia Art Walk the weekend after Thanksgiving at the Patagonia Woman’s Club’s “Festival of Trees” in Cady Hall. Proceeds will be donated primarily to the Women’s Crisis Center in Nogales, which has had major funding cutbacks........
