Silvery blue, candy-cane red, golden and glittery – the Stamp Art Shoppe’s window display is a winter-wonderland of handmade holiday cards that would make Martha Stewart stop and take note.

But crafting experts aren’t the only ones enjoying homemade holiday fun. Even the inexperienced can create miniature masterpieces with a few carefully chosen stamps, inkpads, and sheets of quality paper.

While the idea of creating handmade cards and gifts isn’t a new one, the practice has experienced a renaissance in these trying financial times.

Even though handcrafting isn’t necessarily easier on the pocketbook than purchasing cards or gifts, many people are giving up spend-spend-spend tactics, and focusing on gifts and activities that are meaningful to them......
