PRESS RELEASE

January weekends often yield cold temperatures, but FiberCamp will heat up metro Boston on January 9 and 10.

This un-conference, created for and by spinners, knitters, crocheters, felters, dyers, weavers and surface design enthusiasts, will be held at the Arsenal Center for the Arts in Watertown, MA.

Using an open source formula for conference organization, FiberCamp provides the space and a schedule.  After registering, the participants determine the content.  What do they want to learn?  What can they contribute or share?  Current session topics thrown up by participants range from crochet amigurumi, introduction to drop spinning, photography, blogging, steeking and machine sewing knits.  In addition, a public arts project encourages participants to contribute fiber fish into a net that will be installed under the canopy of the Arsenal Center.

Registration and more information about FiberCamp can be found at http://boston.fibercamp.org.

FiberCamp Boston is a project of the Common Cod Fiber Guild (http://commoncod.com), a private non-profit dedicated to creating fun and supportive environment for learning and participating in fiber activities.
