YORK — Deborah Gowan’s quilts often start from a familiar, traditional star pattern. Though she “got so bored doing just triangles and squares” years ago, the star stays dear to her.Deborah lets the colors and textures of her quilting materials inspire her, pieces a star, then lets her imagination go from there. And her imagination is ready to go most anywhere.
A York native, Deborah left her hometown in 1982 for other adventures. She has lived in Colorado, Texas and Arizona. She built two log homes in South Dakota.
“That’s what I really like to do,” she says.
Deborah returned to York, and family in the area, in late 2009. She brought with her a method she developed for adding dimension and movement to her quilts......
