Creating can be a hobby, therapy or just fun

The term "craft" can be used to refer to any set of activities that involves skill, innovation, and dedication in order to produce a unique object.
It is also the process by which an idea is transformed into a physical object. Because working with crafts is a creative process, it stimulates the brain, particularly the right hemisphere which processes critical analysis, problem solving, creativity and imagination.
Working with crafts, even at a basic level, can benefit almost everyone. It stimulates children's brain development and motor coordination, helps people with brain injuries, and engages aging brains. The process of creating crafts can be a hobby, therapy, stress reliever, and just plain fun.
Even if you don't consider yourself an artistic person, you may be surprised at how easy it is to create crafts at home. Your local library has a wealth of information available about many different types of arts and crafts.
