Seven area “make-your-own” craft shops are joining forces to offer a new winter event in the area. Craft Crawl 2010 will take place February 20 – 27 during each locations’ regular business hours. Participants are encouraged to visit all seven stores. Those making a purchase at a location will get a punch on the Craft Crawl ticket. Tickets are free. Any size purchase qualifies to receive a punch. Crafters with tickets punched from all seven shops will be eligible for the grand prize drawing of a $50 gift certificate from each store. The drawing will take place on Sunday, February 28 and the winner will be immediately notified.

Participating make-your-own businesses include Ben Franklin Crafts, Common Threads Quilt Shoppe, Dawn’s Beads, Fired Up Iowa City, Inc., Home Ec. Workshop, The Knitting Shoppe, and Shields Sewing Center.

Peg Griffin-Wood, main organizer for this event stated, “This is an opportunity for crafters in the area to see the unique flair each business offers. Most of the venues participating will have special demonstrations, give-aways, and crafting tips. There is a trend of people blending craft medias, and the Craft Crawl 2010 is a great way to explore how to begin adding a new element to your current work.”
