African jewelry sale to fund mission trip

Jacksboro Youth Fellowship will reap the benefits of an extraordinary fund-raiser.
Unique works of art are now on sale at City Drug after a long journey across exotic lands and foreign seas. Bagala Beads, beautiful jewelry made by impoverished African mothers, were brought to Jacksboro by Carlin McDaniel from a mission trip to Uganda.
The beads are crafted from recycled materials.
“What starts as everyday refuse is transformed in a mere three days into colorful jewelry perfect for sprucing up any ensemble,” said T.J. York, youth director of the Jacksboro Parish and Jacksboro Youth Fellowship. “Sometimes it is possible to even see words from the original print in the beads adding character to the piece.”
All proceeds from Bagala Beads sold at City Drug will go directly to fund the JYF High School Spring Break Mission Trip.
Jacksboro Youth Fellowship is a student ministry of First United Methodist Church and the Jacksboro Parish. During spring break, JYF will travel to the San Carlos Apache Reservation in Arizona.......
