Guide to glass art

A visit to the Village Theatre Art Gallery's current glass art exhibit may prompt one response: Tell me more about it.
Artist Janice Peacock, who has been working with glass since 1989, will do just that at a free lecture from 7-8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 25.
Peacock, who lives in the Lafayette hills, originally began working with traditional stained glass. Her beadwork has been displayed in several exhibits nationally and internationally. She currently specializes in glass bead making.
During the lecture, Peacock will discuss glass bead work and traditional stained glass technique. Some of her own works will be on display for the evening.
The Village Theatre Art Gallery at 233 Front St. in Danville opened in November. The Town of Danville is dedicated to hosting continuing art education classes and lectures that are free and open to the public.
The current exhibition, "The Light Fantastic: Irish Stained Glass," will run through March 28. It is the first of its kind to feature secular, free-standing, portable glass panels, and was developed by the Crafts Council of Ireland.
