The festival features activities including a car show, Crepe Myrtle Idol competition, kids' activities corner, tractor parade, battle of the bands, arts and crafts vendors, food, live entertainment and more.

"We want people to be able to relax and enjoy a family oriented festival without breaking the bank," Crepe Myrtle Festival Chair Steve Worley said.

The Crepe Myrtle Idol competition is one of the entertainment showcases of the Crepe Myrtle Festival.  The idol competition will begin with auditions on April 17 at the Monroe Community Building at 602 East Church Street in Monroe.
