Artist Profile: Elisabeth Brustein works in polimer clay

Elisabeth Brustein's journey into the world of art began at the age of 8 when she painted her first oil painting. She took a break until 1994 when, she says, "I woke up one day and found that I could draw. Shortly after that, I discovered I could paint. I know it sounds strange, but it's the truth."

Since January of last year, the Plano artist has been working toward being a full-time artist.

"My goal is to build a following so that eventually I will be able to play with clay all day," she says. The clay she uses is polymer clay, which she molds and shapes into a variety of objects, including her most popular items, large plates and rain sticks......
